At the end of the farm track turn right on to the B874 and head towards Thurso. Travel approximately 1 mile and Our Wee Shop and Westfield Timber is on the right. The shop provides a garden centre, café and takeaway, home bakes and convenience store with lots of local produce along with timber supplies and garden furniture.

Continue approximately 4 miles further and you'll reach the most northerly town in mainland Scotland, Thurso. There’s plenty to see and do in and around the delightful town of Thurso. The town is a hive of lovely traditional shops, cafes, bars, and restaurants. There are good coach and rail links south. There are leisure facilities within the town, which include a cinema and a swimming pool, and outdoor pursuits include surfing, fishing, and yachting. 

Thurso is also a major surfing area and a premier heavy cold surf destination which hosts surfing championships, including Scottish National Surfing Championships and World Championships for Kayak surfing. The plentiful reefs, points, river mouths and beaches, on top of the consistent year-round surfing opportunities, make the location a paradise for water sports lovers.

Only 16 miles from Thurso is Castlehill Heritage Centre, a Dark Sky Discovery Site where anyone can stargaze. Keen walkers shouldn't miss North Highland Way, a fantastic walk across the north coast from Thurso to John O'Groats.

From Thurso there are regular bus and rail services south and from Wick airport, approximately 20 miles south there are regular scheduled air services. Inverness is approximately two hours’ drive. The nearest accident and emergency is in Wick.
